Today I’ve got a lesson in a voice over basic, pronunciation and enunciation.
A lot of people confuse the two or even combine them into a non-word: pronunciate.
Pronunciation is how you make the sound of a word in a correct or particular manner and enunciation is the clarity of your speech. Both are obviously very important to your work in voice over.
You can, of course, find the correct pronunciation of almost any word on Google. But enunciation is a little more tricky.
Poor enunciation will make you sound like a mush-mouthed mumbler.
But over-enunciation will make you sound like a persnickety know-it-all
So how do you strike the perfect balance?

Glad you mentioned more-precise enunciation being appropriate for corporate or medical. I suspect that’s at least part of the reason Adriana suggested that corporate work would be a good match for my style.
