In my voice over career I’ve auditioned for some pretty strange stuff.
\nA candy bar commercial where the only words in the script were Ooooo, Ahhh. <\/p>\n

A suburban Mom where they had me read from the murder tale “In Cold Blood” by Truman Capote just to get an idea of my tone of voice. Huh?!<\/p>\n

An audition for a cold remedy where I had to sneeze convincingly\u2026in reverse.
\nChoo-ha!!<\/p>\n

Back in the day, our auditions were live and there was someone in the room to direct us. Today, you’re on your own in your home studio. <\/p>\n

The good news is with the exponential growth of digital media there are plenty of auditions. <\/p>\n

The bad news is it’s rare to get any more than a few words of direction at the top of your script. So what do you do? How do you know if you’re doing the audition right?<\/p>\n
