Positive affirmations won’t do it. An extra dose of self-esteem won’t do it. <\/p>\n

It can be as mild as a few butterflies in your stomach or as severe as paralyzing speech fright.<\/p>\n

Baseball fans might be familiar with the story of Rick Ankiel, a pitcher with the St Louis Cardinals. He had the talent to be one of the best pitchers ever.<\/p>\n
Then one day he lost it. <\/p>\n
He was overcome by anxiety in the middle of a playoff game and his pitches went wild, with millions of people watching. He eventually became a great outfielder but his ability to pitch was mysteriously lost forever.<\/p>\n
