Happy New Year! Hope you had an awesome celebration and are feeling pumped about the shiny new year ahead.

Today I’ve got a lesson in a voice over basic, pronunciation and enunciation.

A lot of people confuse the two or even combine them into a non-word: pronunciate.

Pronunciation is how you make the sound of a word in a correct or particular manner and enunciation is the clarity of your speech. Both are obviously very important to your work in voice over.

You can, of course, find the correct pronunciation of almost any word on Google. But enunciation is a little more tricky.

Poor enunciation will make you sound like a mush-mouthed mumbler.

But over-enunciation will make you sound like a persnickety know-it-all

So how do you strike the perfect balance?

That’s the subject of this week’s Inside Voice Over video training blog. Click here to watch my short video and when you’re done, leave me a comment, ok?
