One of the most common complaints guys have about the sound of their voice is that it’s not as deep as they would like it to be. And some women complain about this too. They feel their voice lacks authority and they sound too young and childlike
Whether your voice is naturally deep or not, it’s useful in voice over to know how to raise or lower your natural pitch, depending on the script and the type of character you’re playing.
There are three easy ways to do this and I’ll walk you through them step-by-step in this week’s Inside Voice over video training blog.

Hi Susan,
This was very informative, thank you. I’ve found that drinking hot/warm water makes my voice deeper. It’s also deeper in the morning so if I have projects that require that deep read, I try to do those in the morning. I’ll put your tips to work asap.
Tanks again.
You’re welcome, Lance. I love the warm water trick Easy to do and healthy! Good to hear from you- Susan
Very good video Susan. Short, sweet and useful, especially the relax tip. Must try that warm water trick as well!
Be well…
