The engineer walked Janice into the voice booth, adjusted the microphone and made sure she was comfortable.

He then closed the big soundproof door.

The session began and everything seemed to be going well until suddenly, it stopped. “Hold on a minute, ” said the engineer.

Janice waited in the booth. She could see the client and the engineer talking to one another but she couldn’t hear a thing.

She waited, and waited….and waited some more. She began to sweat. What were they talking about?
“They must be talking about me,” she thought. “They don’t like me. I’ve screwed something up.”

And still they kept her waiting.

Finally, she couldn’t stand it anymore and burst into the control room.

“If you don’t like me,” she said, choking back tears “I’ll just leave.”

“What are you talking about?” said the shocked audio engineer. “We were just going over some changes in the script.”

Believe it or not, this is a true story.

And because I would never want something embarrassing like this to happen to you, I’ve got your back in this week’s Inside Voice Over video training blog.

An Immersion in Putting Vision into Practice

“I felt welcomed by everyone involved with Voice Over Boot Camp event. The way the course is laid out helped me see the practical side of the business. Susan and her team also stoked the fire of my dream to become a Voice Over Artist. I loved the entire experience, and the group of people were of diverse backgrounds and parts of the country (even Western Canada), making for an incredible, encouraging experience. I learned to look at my career from multiple angles, not simply from the “sound”. Well worth the investment. I’m looking forward to learning and growing my brand under The Great Voice Company’s tutelage!” Daric Abbott

The Great Voice Company Voice over Boot Camp – Just Do It!

“What I value most from the Boot Camp are two things. First, it persuaded me that this voice over dream that I’ve wondered about for so many years could indeed become a reality. I found the Boot Camp a real jumpstart to my progress in the voice over industry. Second, while the Boot Camp offered excellent instruction on the performance and technical side of voice over it also placed significant emphasis on its business and entrepreneurial side. You emerge with a clear road map for advancing your voice over career. It’s up to you what you do with that toolbox but the Boot Camp definitely equips you with everything you need. All of this is somehow achieved in the span of a thoroughly enjoyable long weekend. Considering the quality and extent of the instruction, the Boot Camp is a bargain. If you’re looking for the right on-ramp into voice over, The Great Voice Company’s Voice over Boot Camp is second to none. Just do it!” Angus Gunn
