Early in my voice over career the police found my demo in the pocket of a homeless man.
How do I know? It had my phone number on it and they called me thinking the guy may have grabbed my purse or something.
But no…the homeless guy had my demo CD because he fished it out of the trash. I’d been dumpster-dumped and deleted.
I tell you this so you don’t get too hung up on trying to create the perfect demo. None of us are right for every opportunity.
Your demo doesn’t need to be a work of art but it definitely needs to be professionally produced and directed, a service we provide when you’re ready. And you can do it from home too following our guidelines (contact talent@greatvoice.com if you’re interested).
