Voice Overs and your day job

Got a day job?

Whether you love it or hate it, it (hopefully) pays the rent and that’s a good thing.

I suggest that you hang on to your day job until you’re good and ready to let it go.

But how do you squeeze your new voice over career into your busy nine to five without quitting your day- job or rocking the boat?

Relax!

I’ve got some great proven tips in this week’s Inside Voice Over.

Some of It requires a bit of clever multi-tasking and some of it requires a little “mischief”-

    Hi Susan,
    I am now on a compressed schedule at work. That means that I work 9 hour days, but I get every other Friday off. I am devoting my Fridays off to VO work. I know it’s not enough, but I really look forward to the Fridays when that’s all I do.

      Hi Sandie,

      I think you’ll find that that “focused Friday” will really pay off for your voice over career as long as you’re consistent. Good for you! Let me know how it goes.

    This is great advice! I have more flexibility than your typical 9-5 job, but balancing is still tricky. The quick audition recordings and the “cough, cough, cough” 🙂 will definitely come in handy!
